007 The Biggest Myth About Motivation That is Holding You Back

One of my favourite quotes is this one from Jim Ryan: “Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.”

That's exactly what we're talking about today. Motivation is a fickle thing. Sometimes we feel it, sometimes we don’t. Sometimes we lose it for ages, and yet we depend on motivation to help us reach our goals in life, especially when it comes to fitness and wellbeing. So let's dig a little deeper into motivation, and bust one of the biggest myths that is holding us back from moving towards our goals.

What We Cover:

- The difference between the energy of starting something, and carrying it through - Why we get so frustrated with simple things like planning our meals - Are there people who are naturally motivated to do things? - How motivation can be nurtured and trained - How to transform initial motivation into a sustainable habit - Fixed mindset vs. growth mindset - Why small steps will take us very far - Beware of the stories you are telling yourself

We need to be aware that we cannot keep that same level of motivation going forever. Ultimately, it’s about how we view it and how we interpret it, and what things we put in place to make sure that motivation becomes less important, and habit becomes the king. We have the power to develop and nurture our motivation, instead of depending on it.
