027 What Self-Care Really Means and How to Add it to Your Life

The culture of busy doesn’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon. We need things that are going to help us be resilient to it, without it resulting in constantly elevated cortisol and stress and feeling exhausted by life.

We’re not here to stay on the treadmill and be exhausted. We are all here to do so much more than that, and in order to fully live, we also need to be mindful of the things our bodies and minds need - which is where self-care comes in. We all feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day, but some level of self care is a non-negotiable for any of us wanting to live a happy, satisfying life.

Today I'm joined by Sarah Reddan, a therapeutic coach,  a qualified counselor and the host of  “Conversations with Sarah” podcast. Using personal development courses, hypnotherapy and meditation Sarah helps women add self-care practices to their lives.

What Is Covered:

- How to make your  “to do”  list that includes the things that fulfil your soul

- The importance of asking yourself what you actually want

- How to be kinder and stop pushing yourself

- How to approach the things that are holding you back

- How to show your children that it's okay to prioritise  yourself

- How to take the “time out” you need

You don’t have to do everything at once. Shake off some of the nervousness, and think about the little things that make your day enjoyable. Self-care is a core practice in your day to day life. It is connecting with who you are, with what brings you joy and what helps you thrive within your own life.
