002 How to Think Smaller for Better Results

If I had a penny for all the times when someone's told me that, when it comes to making nutrition changes and adding more exercise into their lives, they need to go all in or they won't do it at all, I'd be a millionaire by now. Then a few weeks later, they fall off the wagon, which is accompanied by guilt, self-loathing, and the feeling of just being incapable of change.

There's a simple reason why this happens, and it's got nothing to do with us being unable to change or lacking in willpower. And that's exactly what we're going to be talking about today in this week's podcast.

What We Cover:

- How to start thinking smaller and why 95% of all diets fail

- The influence of culture on how we are trying to make nutrition and fitness changes

- How our brain perceive changes, and why it prefers habits

- Why you need to be adding food instead of cutting it out

- The limits of willpower and the decision-making fatigue

- How to ease ourselves into new habits and go for small, incremental changes

If you're currently off the wagon, and thinking about getting on it, but you're put off by all the work involved, or if you tend to be really hard on yourself and expect perfection, then it might be worth trying this approach, and trying to go for something a bit smaller, rather than having to necessarily go all in all the time.

Mindset, Balance & Fitness for Real Life
The Busy Woman’s Guide is a wellness podcast for women looking for a healthy lifestyle that fits THEIR rhythm, not a cookie cutter version of all the “shoulds” and to-do lists out there.

Hosted by Alix Hubble, women’s therapeutic, fitness and life coach, I take you deeper into a wellbeing for YOU.

Because you already know what it takes to build healthy habits, and you’ve got enough productivity tips, workout motivation hacks, and tips for how to be consistent, how to stop procrastinating and how to achieve work life balance to last a lifetime.

This is your permission slip to stop performing, start listening to yourself, and create a rhythm that actually fits your life.

If you’re asking questions like these….this is the place to be:

- How to stop overthinking?
- How can I be productive without burning out?
